A former traditional Portuguese fishing village, Carvoeiro retains much of it's original charm whilst providing a perfect resort for families and couples.

Tourists return to Carvoeiro year after year, unable to resist the charm this town offers. Situated between Albufeira and Lagos, Carvoeiro is known for it's relaxed and friendly environment perfect for winding down and experiencing what the Algarve has to offer.

There are a number of secluded sandy beaches where you can spend hours relaxing or take a boat trip out to visit the magical coves (Grotto's) of the Western Algarve. Although smaller and less commercial than some of the other towns Carvoeiro enjoys some of the best cuisine around. There are a number of traditional Portuguese restaurants where the fresh fish on offer is highly recommended, or alternatively you can choose from Indian, Italian, Tapas, Chinese, Thai or English cuisine. During the day you will find a selection of cafe's and small bars where you can sample some of the traditional Portuguese pastries and fresh croissants.

There are a number of bars in the centre, of which many offer live music or you may prefer to sit outside to make the most of the warm evenings, watching the world go by whilst sampling the local Sangria and Port.
